An early hit
The Way of the Sheep ran for several years and was collected in two volumes
This was my first experiment in a loose, spontaneous style. At times it was downright messy. It was done in indian ink on bad quality paper, using a strange quill-like nib I found in a flea market
As originally commissioned, this strip had an unusual six-frame format. Fearing that would put editors off I reworked it into a neat four-frame version for syndication. Here I've decided to use both alternately
